Our location in the city centre

Our hotel is directly situated in the historical centre of Vienna, only a few steps away from St. Stephen's Cathedral. The Imperial Palace Hofburg with its Congress Centre, the Vienna State Opera, the renewed Viennese Museums as well as the exclusive shopping streets Kärntnerstraße and Graben can all be reached easily with short walks through the typical old Viennese side streets of the city centre.

Just outside our doorsteps, in the very heart of the old town you will find many traditional Viennese stores, restaurants and coffee shops. Our recommendation: have a walk around the area of the “Heiligenkreuzerhof” with its Biedermeier setting, you will be charmed!

If you stay with us you are never far away from public transport: on Schwedenplatz you will find two underground lines: U1 and U4, linking you directly with such important places like Schönbrunn Castle or the Vienna International Centre (UN). Furthermore there are different tram lines passing through Schwedenplatz station. The Vienna International Airport can be reached easily and quickly by using the Vienna Airport Lines bus, also leaving from Schwedenplatz.

The convenient location of the Hotel AUSTRIA does not mean you will not get a proper night sleep: we are located in a traffic-free cul-de-sac.
