We have now completed our EMOTIONS workshop!

We have tried to improve our “feelings” towards our guests AND with one another as well.

We have definitely learned a lot of new things.
It has most of all given us a lot of pleasure!
Simply find out and see for yourself on your NEXT visit…

Still - everyone's quite relaxed...

                                    TOGETHER - everything gets easier!

EMOTIONS - intimately experienced ...

                                   "Our" absolutely professional trainers!

And - WE did it!

Get to your garage parking space with a mobile navigating device!

Actually, both of our garages are really easy to find – especially with our Drive-In description. These days however, many people already rely on a navigation system – some people supposedly do so even on their way to finding their toothbrush!

Starting right now we’ll make a mobile navigation device available upon request!
Just press the destination button – and a friendly voice will lead you DIRECTLY to your garage parking space.
That same voice will guide you again directly to your Hotel AUSTRIA.

Now it’s just your toothbrush that you’ll have to find on your own…

Olbrich: Architect of the Secession

Vienna’s Leopold Museum is devoting a broad-based retrospective to Joseph Maria Olbrich, creator of the secession building.

Joseph Maria Olbrich (1867-1908) was one of the biggest names in turn-of-the-century architectural and artistic circles, and a leading figure in the reform movement of the day. This retrospective at the MuseumsQuartier shows around 300 pieces by the universal artist, architect and creator of the Secession Building in Vienna.

Olbrich's wide-ranging oeuvre extends from architectural design and interior decoration, to landscaping and industrial design. All of his work is hallmarked by his commitment to the ideal of blending life and art. This show also explores Olbrich's role in the Viennese Modern Age, or Wiener Moderne, using pieces by Otto Wagner, Koloman Moser and Gustav Klimt. Loan pieces sourced from private and public collections in Germany, Austria and the USA include furniture, textiles, sketches and watercolors.

A Night with the Philharmonic

On June 8, 2010 the Vienna Philharmonic and Franz Welser-Möst will serve up the very best in classical music – free of charge. The Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by Franz Welser-Möst, will be giving its traditional open air musical master class at the Summer Night's Concert in the Schönbrunn Schlosspark once again this year. In a departure from traditions elsewhere, admission is free as the famous ensemble lays on a special treat for locals and visitors alike. Last year almost 100,000 visitors took up the invitation to attend this special event.

Franz Welser-Möst - the new musical director at the Vienna State Opera from fall onwards - will hold the baton. He said it will be ...

"... a great joy and an immense pleasure to conduct this orchestra, which, in addition to its superb musical qualities, has been amongst the world's best for over 100 years now, not least because of its exceptional team spirit as well."

The concert is scheduled to start at 9.00 p.m. The program is themed on the planets, sun and moon:

•    John Williams: Star Wars Main Title from "Star Wars"
•    Josef Strauss: Music of the Spheres, Waltz, op. 235

Relaxing on the Vienna Danube

In Vienna, the Danube is omnipresent – whether in the form of the Donau-Auen National Park or Old Danube, Danube Island or Danube Canal. This also means that the river banks and beaches are close by. The Viennese use them to relax, for play and sports, or for pleasurable hours at the beach cafes, bars and restaurants that can be found on the Old Danube and the Copa Cagrana on the Danube Island.

Old Danube

Surrounded by gardens, lawns, restaurants with terraces on the water, promenades with pedestrian and bicycle paths, the Old Danube draws swimmers, sailors, rowers and surfers. You can choose between three sailing and surfing schools, nine boat rental agencies and four beach facilities. Tip: Rent a row boat, paddle boat or electric boat and experience a romantic boat picnic by moonlight. Maybe you would also like to spend an afternoon at the Gänsehäufel beach facility where two kilometers of beaches, a wave pool and athletic pool, playgrounds, cafés and a nudist area promise enjoyable hours of leisure.

Danube Island

With roughly three million visitors, the three-day Danube Island Festival is the largest party event in Europe. But there is plenty happening on "the island" at other times as well: The recreational paradise of the Viennese includes 42 kilometers of sand, pebble and grassy beaches on the New Danube, bays, playgrounds (also for ballgames), graded jogging and skating paths, rental agencies for boats, bicycles and surfboards, extensive nudist areas, bars, cafés and restaurants on the Copa Cagrana.

New to the Danube Island in 2010 is the multi-functional information center. Not only are visitors' questions answered, but the "Island information" area also offers a water playground and changing themed exhibitions.

Danube Canal

The Danube Canal (also known as the "Little Danube") was created in the course of regulating the Danube from 1870 to 1875. The southernmost original branch of the Danube in Vienna, it now has a length of 17.3 kilometers and runs past the Viennese Old City. You can either explore the Danube Canal by ship or you can enjoy the ambiance in one of the numerous outdoor bars along the Danube Canal.
